Sintra
Our second day in Portugal was spent in Sintra, Portugal. I've actually written more than one post about this day. The first one I scrapped because it was a little too raw. The second one I published and it vanished. I've never had anything like that happen before- I even had my techie husband try to recover it for me. Nothing. To be honest, this was a hard day for us because someone stole all our things.
I don't know why someone stole our bags and I don't know why my post about it vanished. At the time I had just finished a class through our church and was struggling with the concept of God's sovereignty. In my last posts, I tried to wrap it all up in a pretty bow and close that chapter. But I realize now I wasn't meant to have all the answers, and I wasn't even meant to walk away from it.
I don't really have that many answers, but I have joy. Fleet & I have been calling it our "spiritual renaissance" and it started this day in Sintra. For that I am thankful. There's one main reason we are thankful our bags got stolen, but that is more Fleets story and i'll let him tell it. For me, I'm thankful for my husband and his soft heart. I'm thankful we got to see two of our favorite people and do life with them for 10 days. I'm immeasurably grateful God continues to teach me hard and holy things. I'm thankful I don't have to have all the answers or the perfect blog post. I'm thankful he wraps me up in His arms and never lets me go.
